Cucumber and Lettuce Salad

4 small - Cucumber, unpeeled, finely diced
½ head medium - Iceberg lettuce, raw, shredded
1 tb - Vegetable oil
1 tsp - Cumin seeds, lightly crushed
2 medium - Green chilies, raw, sliced
1 dash - Table salt
1 tb - Peanuts, dry roasted, unsalted
2 tb - Coriander (cilantro) leaves, raw, finely chopped

1. Heat the cooking oil in a small saucepan over medium heat. Temper the cumin seeds by adding them to the pan and allowing them to sizzle.
2. Add the green chilies and allow them to temper for another 30 seconds. Turn off the heat.
3. In a bowl, add the chopped cucumbers and shredded lettuce. Pour the mixture into the bowl. Add the salt, sugar, peanuts, and cilantro.
4. Toss well and serve immediately.
