
Split Pea Soup

INGREDIENTS
2 tb - Vegetable oil
3 - Bay leaves
4 cloves - Garlic, minced
½ cup - Onion, chopped
1 cup - Carrots, chopped
1 cup - Celery, chopped
½ cup - Potatoes, peeled and chopped
1 cup - Dried green split peas, soaked overnight in cold water and strained
½ tsp - Salt
½ tsp - Black pepper
6 cups - Water
1 tsp - Smoked paprika
UTENSILS
Large pot, Blender, Chopping board, Knife
INSTRUCTIONS
1. In a large pot add the oil and bay leaves. Sauté for 2 minutes.
2. Add the garlic, onion, carrot, celery and potatoes to the pot. Sauté for 5 minutes.
3. Add the split peas, salt, black pepper and water. Bring it to a boil. Reduce the heat and simmer for 1 hour.
4. Remove from the heat. Blend the mixture into a smooth consistency using a blender.
5. Add the smoked paprika. Serve.
