INGREDIENTS

2 cups - Rice flakes


1 - Onion, raw, finely chopped


3 - Green chilies, raw, finely chopped


½ - Red capsicum, raw, medium, finely chopped


100g - Green beans, raw, finely chopped


½ cup - Green peas, frozen


1 tsp - Chili powder


½ tsp - Coriander powder


½ tsp - Turmeric


¼ tsp - Cumin powder


⅛ tsp - Salt


½ tsp - Garam masala


½ lemon - Lemon juice, raw


3 tb - Coriander (cilantro) leaves, raw


1 cup - Water


½ tsp - Cumin seeds


½ tsp - Mustard seeds


1 tb - Vegetable oil

UTENSILS

Pan with lid, Bowl, Chopping board, Knife

INSTRUCTIONS

1. Soak the rice flakes in enough water in a bowl for 5 minutes.


2. Heat oil in a pan over medium heat. Add the mustard seeds and cumin seeds. When the seeds start to sizzle, add the chopped onion and green chilies. Sauté for 2 minutes.


3. Add the red chili powder, turmeric powder, coriander powder, cumin powder, garam masala and salt. Mix well.


4. Add the green beans, green peas and red capsicum. Sauté for 2 minutes.


5. Add 1 cup of water to the pan. Mix well and bring the mixture to a boil.


6. Add the soaked rice flakes to the pan and mix gently.


7. Cover the pan and cook for 7 minutes with low heat.


8. Turn off the heat. Add the lemon juice and mix well.


9. Garnish with the coriander leaves. Serve it hot.
